Ronaldo became one of the best players in the world during a six-year spell at Old Trafford before sealing a then world-record move to Madrid in the summer of 2009.

The rumours over Ronaldo's exit from the Spanish club began after the 33-year-old hinted at a possible exit from Real moments after lifting their third straight Champions League trophy in Kiev, with a win over Liverpool. But one of the Portuguese star's closest friends Marcelo made sure that there would be no animosity between the pair if Neymar joined Real Madrid.
