Dutch queen's sister found dead at Buenos Aires home

Zorreguieta appears to have committed suicide, the Dutch embassy in Argentina told Euronews in an email.

She was a bridesmaid for her sister's 2002 marriage to then-Dutch Crown Prince Willem-Alexander, and goddaughter for the couple's youngest daughter, 11-year-old Princess Ariane.

Zorreguieta was a civil servant for the Argentinian government in the Ministry of Social Development, a godmother of the queen's youngest daughter, Princess Ariane, and youngest child of María del Carmen Cerruti Carricart and the late Jorge Zorreguieta, who died just a year ago.

As a result of Inés Zorreguieta's sudden death, Queen Maxima has canceled her upcoming events.

Inés Zorreguieta was 33 and is reported by local media to have taken her own life.

Other details about her death were not immediately available, but Zorreguieta had reportedly suffered from eating disorders and depression.
