Rage 2 gets announced with a trailer

Following the release of Prey a year ago, Bethesda has announced a new game in yet another series we had believed to be dead. "Head to the wasteland for pure pandemonium in 2019 on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC".

Id and Avalanche have already described the game in stunning detail, stating "In RAGE 2, you'll dive headfirst into a dystopian world devoid of society, law, and order".

Avalanche Studios (Just Cause, Mad Max) has teamed up with id Software (DOOM, Quake) to throw players into an open world where they can "go anywhere, shoot anything, and explode everything".

Bethesda Softworks made Rage 2 official Monday followed by the release of a gameplay trailer today.

From the trailer, we can see there will be plenty of guns to use, a variety of different characters and creatures, and a vast world to explore.

Google investigated by Australian regulator over its Android data harvesting practices
A different report estimated that Google tracking would generate more than 23,000 pages of data about a user every two weeks. This allows it to know where a device is connecting or attempting to connect without using the phone's location service".

Overwatch Anniversary to include new Deathmatch map and past seasonal event items
As noted in the tweet, Blizzard will also be bringing back past brawls to the game, so gamers will want to keep an eye out for it. Much like a year ago , Overwatch free weekend coincides with the release of the Overwatch Anniversary event.

Near Earth an asteroid about the size of the Statue of Liberty
The 2010 sign means that it was initially detected in 2010, particularly on November 30, by the Catalina Sky Survey in Arizona . In fact, even in terms of size, this will be the closest ever approach made by an asteroid this big.

Revealed in a press release alongside the game's first gameplay trailer (below), the game will cover a variety of post-apocalyptic terrain, "from lush jungles and treacherous swamps to sun-scorched deserts". Those are the only options, because you certainly don't manage to pull Rage 2 out of your hat unless you know for sure that's coming. With Rage 2, the team seems to be going in a different direction, emphasising the insane action set pieces that Avalanche is known for from games like Just Cause and Mad Max. Humanity's numbers are dwindling, and it's up to you to fight for what's left under the rule of the tyrannical force known as The Authority.

As if the gangs and mutants aren't enough, Walker also has to contend with the Authority, returning antagonists from the first game who threaten anything good remaining in the world. This is a game, at least we hope, that demands creativity.

The gameplay trailer below sets things out pretty clearly, although the concept is not a complicated one even if you're not familiar with the 2011 original.

Without going hands-on with the game (hopefully we get a preview at E3!), it's impossible for me to comment on the actual gameplay mechanics; but, it certainly appears that RAGE 2 will get the adrenaline pumping.
