Although it's too late for her to appear in the new Captain Marvel film, Disney's CEO Bob Iger hinted towards a new franchise that will go beyond the Avengers, where Ms marvel might appear.

Speaking with the BBC Arabic's Husam Asi producer Kevin Feige revealed that a movie about Ms Marvel a popular comic book character who's alter-ego is Kamala Khan, a Pakistani-American is sort of in the works. Feige said that while the studio is now focused on "Captain Marvel", starring Brie Larson as the titular heroine, it's also interested in exploring her newer counterpart. It will be Marvel's first solo female superhero film where a female pilot named Carol Danvers turns into Captain Marvel after an encounter with aliens.

Ms. Marvel's appearance on the big screen would be a huge stride for Muslim representation, and for women in general, in the MCU and in film culture at large.

In 2015, the first issue of Ms Marvel won the prestigious Hugo Award for the best graphic story. It's a struggle we've all faced in one form or another, and isn't just particular to Kamala because she's Muslim. But who truly is the all-new Ms. Marvel? While not the first Muslim hero, she gained a lot of popularity due to the time her character was introduced in. We were not even done raving about the breakthrough superhero adventure Black Panther, and Avengers: Infinity War hit us like a tornado.
