According to NDTV's analysis of the exit polls, BJP will likely emerge as the largest party with 97 seats, however, short of the majority mark.

Unlike the News X-CNX exit poll survey, India Today-Axis, Times Now-VMR and IndiaTV-VMR suggested that the Congress will win Karnataka polls establishing itself as the single largest party.

Election has happened in only 222 of the total 224 seats in Karnataka. But going by the crowd that Modi's rallies attracted, Congress should have shown more aggression and involved other national leaders of the party to challenge BJP's narrative. But then the suspense will be on till 15th.

The Republic TV-Jan Ki Baat exit poll predicted 95-114 seats for BJP, 73-82 seats for Congress, 32-43 seats for JDS and 2-3 seats for Others.

The Congress' candidate is Karnataka chief minister K Siddaramaiah, who is running for re-election. While the elections are finally held in the state, the next big thing is the exit poll predictions on one of the most important assembly elections ahead of 2019 Lok Sabha polls.

The Congress had won 122 seats in the 2013 state Assembly polls following a split in the BJP, which was reduced to 40 seats while the JD (S) also got 40 seats. Times Now put the likely tally of the JD (S) at 31-39 while India Today put its figure at 22-30 seats. In the runup to other state polls and the general elections, we expect government policies to remain focussed on improving rural incomes. The ABP-C Voter poll gives 39 per cent to the Congress and 82-94 seats to the grand old party.

LLC Lowers Stake in Eli Lilly and Company (NYSE:LLY)
Under the terms of the agreement, Eli Lilly will acquire all outstanding common shares of ARMO for $50.00 per share in cash. The closing of the deal will be subject to customary closing conditions such as receipt of necessary regulatory approvals.

While the Election Commission had tried its best to beat the 2013 record-high voter turnout of 71.45 per cent, low polling in Bangalore appears to have put paid to the plans.

The BJP leader, while reacting to Siddaramaiah's statement on calling him "mentally disturbed" added that he was making such statements because he would lose the Chamundeshwari and Badami seats where the Karnataka Chief Minister is contesting from.

A BJP win would bring Prime Minister Narendra Modi and party chief Amit Shah a step closer to achieving their dream of a "Congess-mukt" India.

While polling was held on Saturday, counting of votes is scheduled for May 15.

Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said that he was "very confident" of the ruling Congress retaining power in the southern State by winning over 120 seats.

Taking to Twitter, Siddaramaiah also recalled how he had taken charge as Karnataka CM on this date five years ago and said he looked forward to the people's love and support "for doing more". In Bombay Karnataka region which has 50 seats, BJP might win 36 seats, Congress could get 11, JDS may win 2 seats while others can have their luck only on 1 seat.
