CANBERRA, Australia | Australian police find 7 dead with gunshot wounds

West Australian Police Commissioner Chris Dawson said the bodies of two adults were found outside near a building, while five were discovered inside.

Four children are part of a group of seven people found dead in a Margaret River home this morning.

Major Crimes investigators from Perth are en route from Perth to assist local police and homicide detectives in what's believed to be a very large-scale crime scene.

Dawson said there appeared to be gunshot wounds, "but I don't want to go further than that as two firearms have been located at the scene".

"I can only say at this point in time we have no information to raise concern about wider public safety issues".

Police were called to the scene of an Osmington property at 5:15am (local time) Friday morning.

The incident took place in the town of Margaret River, which is roughly 150 miles south of the state capital Perth.

"Police in Western Australia have had to deal with matters of this scale before, I am very confident that our officers and indeed those from other departments that. with such matters we call on for such matters will be able to deal with it".
