A few hours ago, Taylor was preparing for the first show of her Reputation tour.

An olive branch is a traditional symbol of peace.

Perry's note, which came in an envelope sealed with a puppy sticker, began: "Hey old friend".

You could also see where it read, "deeply sorry" and wanted to "clear the air". She even captioned the video, "Thank you Katy", adding the double heart emoji - which everyone knows is only used for true pals.

As expected, Swifties and Perry fans flooded Twitter with excitement over the reconciliation, joking about Swift removing "Bad Blood" from her set, as it was widely received as a diss track against the "Roar" singer.

Taylor got the last laugh though: after keeping her music off Spotify for years, she chose to release her entire back catalogue to the streaming service on the exact same day as Perry released her new album Witness. Perry, 33, described her 2017 single, "Swish Swish", as "a great anthem for people to use whenever somebody's trying to hold you down or bully you". "I don't think there would be any personal problem if she weren't competitive".

It also followed Perry's headline grabbing appearance on Monday at the Met Gala in NY, where she dressed as an angel. "Honestly, it's really like, she started it and it's time for her to finish it". "I do the right thing any time that it feels like a fumble".

Less than a month later, Perry said she was "ready to let it go", during an interview with Arianna Huffington's Thrive Global Podcast.
