After a disastrous inaugural event previous year in Chicago, Niantic has announced plans to bring Pokémon GO Fest back to the city this summer July 14 and 15, this time at Lincoln Park. "It will take place in Lincoln Park and will feature in-game activities in the park and throughout the city as well as connected gameplay events around the world". Other parts of Chicago will also see additional in-game activities and the appearance of rare Pokemon. There isn't much other information on what to expect from this Pokemon Go Fest in particular other than its location and the fact that there will be some sort of "activities", though. At the moment, however, details are pretty sparse, with Niantic having only announced three events in three separate cities for the moment. "After getting off to a bumpy start in Chicago a year ago, we hosted a number of record-setting events in Japan, Korea, and cities across Europe with attendance that ranged from tens of thousands to more than two million".

Single-day tickets will go on sale May 11 for $20 each. As a reminder, last year's Chicago event was plagued by connectivity issues, which resulted in full refunds for people who bought tickets, gifts of $100 worth of PokeCoins to attendees and a class action lawsuit.

The smartphone features a 6-inch IPS LCD with 18:9 ratio display of 1080 x 2160 pixels, and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. That is set to change soon as HMD Global has confirmed the phone's second SIM too will be made VoLTE compliant soon.

Niantic also announced that two new Safari Events will be making their way around the world later this year, with one coming to Germany at the end of June, and one coming to Japan soon after.

Together with the city of Dortmund, Niantic will host an event from June 30 to July 1 in the Westfalenpark. Unlike the Chicago event, Dortmund's will be free.
