Ian Desmond #20 of the Colorado Rockies connects on a solo home run in the eighth inning against the New York Mets at Citi Field on May 6, 2018 in the Flushing neighborhood of the Queens borough of New York City. Tests showed that deGrom had sustained no damage to his throwing arm on Wednesday, so the Mets penciled him in for Monday, a decision they reaffirmed on Saturday after he threw a bullpen session.

It was 1-0 heading to the ninth inning, after Nolan Arenado had a homer in the first inning but David Dahl came through with a RBI single in the 9th to make it 2-0. He turned on starter Noah Syndergaar's 97.3 miles per hour fastball and drove it into the left-field seats, slicing New York's lead to 2-1. Syndergaard didn't have his best command in this one, as he gave up four walks to go along with six hits. NY starter Steven Matz was fantastic in absorbing the loss with three hits given up through six innings pitched.
