One of the best new Gmail features doesn't work yet

On mobile, while not a design refresh, Gmail is getting a few functional features.

Google has also promised performance improvements for regular Gmail users.

Gmail is all set to get native offline support which will allow users to smart search through their Inbox, reply to emails (save as draft till connected to the internet), delete and archive emails.

Google on Wednesday rolled out a number of new features created to make its G Suite collaboration and productivity apps more efficient and safer to use.

The new look was said to be available to all Gmail users, but several South African users reported not being able to access the upgrade.

For users trying to use their downtime to stay on top of their emails, a new offline mode will be a huge help. What this means is that after the recipient has opened the email, it will disappear!

Interactive hovering. You can see and open attachments, RSVP or archive an email or thread by hovering over it without opening.

The next feature under the confidential mode is password itself.

Gmail has a massive 1.4 billion users and not all will get the changes at once, but the global rollout will nonetheless hit all users soon.

The "all new" Gmail is available to the more than four million businesses that pay for G Suite services. The icon suite is expected to accommodate Sheets and Docs as well in the upcoming updates.

The redesigned Gmail application helps users take action quicker, it said. While the first three were already a part of Gmail's functionality, Snooze is the latest addition and it allows you to put off emails that you can not get to at the moment.
