The targeted release date for the new Windows 10 update was April 10th, but a bug that was discovered at the last minute that can lead to a blue screen of death meant pushing the release back further.

Microsoft has also confirmed earlier reports that as the Build 17133 "progressed", the company discovered "some reliability issues" that it wanted to fix. Announcing the availability of 17134 to Windows Insiders on the Fast Ring, Dona Sarkar said that the last-minute discovery of problems highlighted the important of the Insider program, and thanks participants for their help.

Sources have told the Verge that the current build is the last version of the new update, meaning that we'll soon see a public rollout of Redstone 4 - hopefully within the coming weeks. At this point in time, we don't have any idea why the blue screen of death bug was occurring with this new build of Windows 10, but it's good that Microsoft is taking quick action to address the issue.

Microsoft did not reveal back then why it chose to delay the release of the new version; in fact, the company never confirmed that April 10, 2018 was the day that it planned to release Windows 10 version 1803 to the public.

Microsoft has now pushed out a new build for Windows 10 RS4 which includes fixes from KB4100375 as well as some fixes for general reliability of the OS.

Instead of releasing Redstone 4 as is, the company is releasing an entirely new build to Insiders with the fixes built in instead of issuing fixes over Windows Update. Microsoft needs to go through some testing of this latest build with Insiders. While most experts agreed that the delay must have been caused by a larger issue that Microsoft detected in the last minute, speculation ranged from a serious security issue to bugs that decreased system stability.

If you are an Insider, let us know how this build is or isn't working on your testing PC.
