It's unclear if the passcode feature will work for non-Gmail users, TechCrunch noted. The letters will also be thinner.

Among the many features that were spotted earlier this week, TechCrunch reports that a Confidential Mode will also be introduced which will allow users to choose whether they want the recipient to be able to forward the email content, restrict them from copy and pasting, downloading or printing them, and even choose if they want the email to self-destruct. After the set date, the emails simply become unreadable.

Google's gmail is one of the most popular email services worldwide.

Now Google is reportedly planning to offer a similar ability to users of Gmail. The user has a web client as well as apps for android and iOS. It's likely that the Confidential Mode will be available along with Smart Reply and Snooze features when it starts to roll out. Businesses and enterprises who are relying on Gmail will find this feature more than useful, and it's probably aimed at such an audience anyway.

Smart Reply - Smart Reply suggests three responses you might send based on the content of an email you received.

Google is implementing smart replies for Gmail on the web, the same feature from mobile Gmail that provides suggestions to quickly reply to emails.

If you're sent an expiring email you want to secretly squirrel away, all you need to do is capture an image of the screen to peruse the message at your leisure.

I guess time will tell on that one.

The default inbox view also has new icons that differentiate the types of attachments accompanying emails, as well as list file names, though the compact view returns the icon to the traditional paperclip and hides file names. You can tag the email with a convenient time and it will be right there at the top of your inbox when you have the freedom to respond. The new design is said to also come with a feature that would ensure only the recipient can view an e-mail and that too for a specific period of time. This is because Google is now asking their users to confirm their Google account to view the confidential email.
