Commonwealth Games boss Peter Beattie has apologised for what he describes as a "stuff-up" closing ceremony.

'These athletes. were part of a team that had a training camp in Warwick before getting to [the] Gold Coast, ' he said in a statement last week.

"Athletes and coaches that could not make it to Gold Coast are camping in Port Harcourt for the Continental event so that we will not only host but lead the medals table", he said.

"GOLDOC appreciates that this decision therefore did not provide the opportunity for the television audiences to share this moment".

Athletes themselves have said they were disappointed to not be included in the closing ceremony.

However GOLDOC had an explanation.

Brandt said that shouldn't be a consideration given athletes have already competed.

These specific aspects would likely include the fact that, while plenty of Aussie musical talent was on display, the actual athletes were left in the dark.

Mr Martin said GCHQ, NCSC's parent organisation, had tracked the threat posed by Russian cyber-gangs for more than 20 years. Manufacturers and ISPs are asked to not support out-of-date, unencrypted, or unauthenticated protocols and services.

Australian media slammed the decision, noting it denied viewers the chance to see para-sport star Kurt Fearnley carrying the Australian flag into the venue. That is the ugly part of the Games.

"I am sure there are plenty of athletes and parents of athletes from all around the Commonwealth who would have loved to see their guys coming into the stadium and Peter Beattie saying they did get it wrong and, yeah, they did mate", Fearnley said.

"They were responsible for getting it right and if you can't get the athletes right what are you doing taking on the project?" They made the decision not to show the flagbearers.

Channel Seven host Johanna Griggs herself criticised the ceremony live on air.

NAN reports that Nigeria won two gold medals, two silver medals and a bronze medal at the end of its athletics participation.

"The speeches were too many and too long".

Then England will host the XXII Commonwealth Games in 2022 and the flag of the Commonwealth Games was also handed over to them during this stunning extravaganza with millions of people enjoyed the enthusiasms showed by the athletes from around the world including Pakistan. Boxers Thiwanka Ranasinghe and Ishan Bandara also took home bronze medals in their events. "You want to see them jumping in front of camera", Griggs continued.

Griggs in particular was visibly furious, making a point of sharpening her criticism when she felt Zempilas was holding back. We missed out on all of that.
