Former Cal running back C.J. Anderson is looking for a new team.

Cutting the 27-year-old back comes a day after he told Mike Klis of KUSA he planned to report to Denver's offseason workouts on Monday.

The move will free up $4.5 million in salary cap space.

With Anderson gone, only Devontae Booker and De'Angelo Henderson remain on the Denver roster as recognized running backs.

Anderson has some familiarity with the Dolphins system as he worked with head coach Adam Gase when he was the offensive coordinator of the Broncos from 2013-2014. He was the first running back to eclipse 1,000 yards in Denver since Knowshon Moreno.

Anderson is coming off the best volume season of his career, during which he ran for over 1,000 yards and totaled four touchdowns. Anderson added 224 receiving yards on 28 catches.
