USA radio host and conspiracy theorist Art Bell dead at 72

Art Bell, a radio host best known for a paranormal-themed nightly show syndicated on hundreds of stations in the 1990s, has died at his home in southern Nevada.

George Noory, the current host of Coast to Coast AM, made an announcement concerning Bell's death during his show at about 1:20am Central Time on Saturday, April 14, 2018.

Radio disc jockey Arthur William Bell passed away at his home in Pahrump, Nevada on Friday the 13th.

Bell ruled the late night airwaves during the 1990's with a syndicated show carried by 500 stations featuring wide ranging discussions about weird conspiracy theories, involving everything from Bigfoot to the paranormal. "My wife admits to being a little anxious when she discovered my Art Bell listening habits".

Bell was the founder and original owner for Pahrump station KNYE. In most recent years, classic Bell shows on the program "Somewhere in Time" have been on the air.

In July 2016 Bell had a health scare, spending five days in a Las Vegas hospital, according to the show's website.

A cause of death has yet to be determined.

Coast to Coast AM is aired on over 300 radio stations in the USA and Canada.
