UK's Labour leader questions legality of Britain's involvement in Syria strikes

Nikki Haley, the US ambassador to the United Nations, told an emergency session of the U.N. Security Council - the fifth in a week - that Trump was "locked and loaded" to order another punitive attack if Syrian President Bashar Assad uses chemical weapons again.

The United States, France and Britain launched the strikes early Saturday morning, firing 105 missiles on three Syrian chemical weapons facilities in different parts of the country.

But by January 2014, there had already been "delays in transporting the chemicals along the main highway between Damascus and Homs".

The message in both cases has also been the same: that the strikes have damaged the Assad regime's capabilities, and that they don't indicate that the US mission in Syria has changed. The display of national fervor later mixed with celebrations over the news that the Syrian army declared the eastern suburbs of Damascus "fully liberated" after the last group of rebels left the town of Douma.

Both springtime attacks were intended as deterrents against future chemical weapons use. After the chemical attack, I buried my best friend in the garden of my house.

The Trump administration said the same thing a year ago.

"The global community was never honest with Syrians", he added.

Syria sent 40 air defense missiles streaking into the night sky, but only after all the U.S., French and British weapons had struck their targets, Marine Lt. Gen. Kenneth McKenzie Jr., director of the Pentagon's Joint Staff, told reporters at the Pentagon.

"The target of those attacks is just military airports, which participate in the bombing and killing of Syrian people with chemical weapons and centers that create chemical weapons". Syria has denied responsibility, but the U.S., France and Britain have said there is no doubt the Assad government was responsible.

Republican leaders were nonetheless supportive of Trump's response in Syria and did not provide any indication that they would challenge his authority.

Haley blasted Russian Federation for protecting Syria and said that Moscow has emboldened Syrian President Bashar al-Assad's government to continue its attacks. That strike had effectively no impact on the war. They are empty threats.

I am being victimised, asserts Nawaz after lifetime disqualification verdict
The ruling said the disqualification of any MP or a public servant under Article 62 (1)(f) of the Constitution would be permanent. On July 28, 2017, Pakistan Supreme Court had disqualified Nawaz Sharif after he was found guilty in the Panama Papers case .

And yet shared on social media the morning after the raid were photos and videos of Assad walking into work, like any other day - a message to the public that nothing had changed. The U.S. war there dragged on for eight more years.

According to United States officials, the operation comprised three USA destroyers, a French frigate and a U.S. submarine. "So there is no practicable alternative to the use of force to degrade and deter the use of chemical weapons by the Syrian regime", May said.

"It breaks my heart to see kids being washed by water after use of chemical weapons".

Iranian Defense Minister Brigadier General Amir Hatami also said on Saturday that the missile attack on Syria was another clear example of the U.S. criminal approach against the oppressed nations in the region.

Almoazen disagrees. "I don't think mission is accomplished".

United Nations Ambassador Nikki Haley was especially blunt in her assessment of the Syrian regime during meetings with Trump, the person said.

U.S military officials, however, charge the strikes were effective.

Moving to return to diplomacy, France said it was working with the United States and Britain on a draft resolution that would address chemical weapons use, the humanitarian crisis, and the future of the peace process in Syria.

Worldwide investigators from the global chemical weapons watchdog arrived in Syria to start their inquiry on Saturday into the suspected toxic gas attack. He said the installations that produced chlorine gas and sarin, a deadly nerve agent, were damaged or destroyed. "If something happens to President Bashar al-Assad the Christians will get slaughtered", George said. The response was an attempt to weaken Assad's capabilities, and make the prohibition of chemical weapons clear.
