New Eagle Daryl Worley tased, arrested in South Philly

Another Eagles off-season addition is in trouble with the law.

The Eagles on Sunday confirmed Worley's arrest and issued a statement that read, "We are in the process of gathering more information about Daryl Worley's arrest this morning".

According to a source, Worley was arrested around 6 a.m. Sunday.

Former Carolina Panthers cornerback Daryl Worley was arrested early this morning during a confrontation with Philadelphia police, according to a report by Ian Rapoport at NFL Network. A gun was reportedly recovered on the scene as well.

Rapoport tweeted that Worley was passed out in his vehicle near Broad and Pattison Streets, blocking a highway.

The 23-year-old is a Philly native who was recently traded to the Eagles for Torrey Smith.

It was expected that Worley would be in the mix for a starting job in Philadelphia along with fellow corners Ronald Darby, Jalen Mills and Sidney Jones.

The cornerback is also a William Penn Charter School graduate.

"I'm coming back home", Worley said at his introductory press conference on March 19.
