Liverpool comfortably overcame Bournemouth at Anfield to secure three Premier League points on Saturday.

He then showed why he has been so unstoppable since arriving at Anfield as he conjured up a glancing header past Begovic with his back to goal from Trent Alexander-Arnold's searching pass.

Mohamed Salah may have scored his landmark 40th goal of the season for Liverpool, but Jurgen Klopp was also enthused about his team taking their tally to 121 in all competitions.

Sadio Mane opened the scoring for the Reds after just seven minutes, with Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino following up in the second half.

Liverpool's number nine Roberto Firmino made it three after a display of individual skill as he beat Begovic in the right-hand corner of the post. Bournemouth's former Liverpool youth player Jordan Ibe received a pleasant round of applause from the home fans as he was replaced by Lys Mousset, and at this stage the game needed someone from Eddie Howe's side to take it through the gears.

"There were chances we didn't score but we knew we had to stay concentrated, I thought it was very deserved, the last 15 minutes someone took the key to the powerhouse out - the players all felt the intensity of the last few days and lost the game a little bit".

Toronto Raptors Beat Washington Wizards 114-106 In Game 1
But the Raptors' double-digit lead was shortlived and they led 28-23 after one. The score was 59-55, though, and Lowry and DeRozan had four assists apiece.

Liverpool remain third on 70 points, just one point behind second-placed Manchester United in the league table. "When we lost the ball we were like lions, coming back with counter pressing, that obviously makes life uncomfortable for the other side", said Klopp, whose side have now scored 78 league goals this season. It was like "give him the ball", so we had to mix it up. You show it and the boys listen, they see that but in the game it is hard to change.

Bournemouth didn't muster a shot on target in a first half they were second best in throughout, and were delighted to hear Chris Kavanagh's whistle for half-time finding themselves only one goal behind.

To be fair, if we were as good as Salah, we'd probably be greedy as well.

Sadio Mane was also on target for Liverpool against the Cherries as they moved to within two victories of guaranteeing a top-four finish and qualification for next season's Champions League.

Mane is now the outright top scoring Senegalese player in Premier League history, netting 44 goals in the competition and eclipsing Demba Ba (43).
