The women's decider was locked 12-12 at fulltime, and it took until the first passage of extra time for Kelly Brazier to run length of field to gift New Zealand the gold 17-12.

England have scored a dramatic last-gasp victor to stun favourites Australia in the final of the netball at the Commonwealth Games.

They trashed India 6-0 to claim the accolade and with it, bring up England's 100th medal at the Games on the Gold Coast.

The men had three pool matches yesterday and needing to finish top of the pool to qualify for the semi finals they went three for three with wins over Zambia (54-0), Kenya (40-7) and Canada (33-7).

But the Kiwis comfortably wound down the clock for victory and the gold medal.

"Canada are a great team and we knew they were going to bring us something and that is good for us as it tested us".

Canadian captain Ghislaine Landry opened the scoring in their semi clash with the defending Olympic champions. "I had no idea what was going on. but I am so proud of the girls", Goss said.

They were leading the Scots 7-0 at the break, but then scored three well-worked tries to ease into a 26-0 lead before the men in blue managed a consolation try.

New Zealand and England are currently playing their semifinal now at Robina Stadium.

Ware - who scored two tries in the side's 17-12 semi-final win over England - grabbed his side's second through the middle, before Fijian Sevuloni Mocenecagi was yellow-carded for a high tackle.

We will be in Fiji's faces all day and try to force them to play to our structure.

Charlotte Caslick, one of Australia's best at these games, didn't come back on in the second half after a head knock.

The Kiwis, who overcame a mumps scare before the competition, led 12-0 early but had to withstand a powerful comeback from the Australians, who took the final into extra time at 12-12.

England got a double, too, beating Canada 24-19 in the women's bronze-medal match and South Africa 21-14 in the men's playoff for third spot.
