Shenmue 1 & 2 Coming To PS4, Xbox One, And PC This Year

The game that once called the Dreamcast its home will finally be experienced the way it should've been all along, on Xbox One, Playstation 4, and PC.

The game will be playable with modern and classic versions of the controls, dual language audio and subtitles, as well as UI changes and resolution scaling.

The Shenmue games are coming to modern day consoles, with Sega announcing a re-release of the classic series. It hasn't been revealed what the "more" is but it's likely revitalized graphics and frame-rate. Ryo ventures deeper into the criminal underworld, meeting martial arts masters who aid him on his journey and offer insight into his father's death, and unravels the mysteries of the Dragon Mirror that his father kept hidden.

Originally released for the Dreamcast back in 2000 and 2001, Shenmue I and II are cult-classic open-world action adventure games that combine jujitsu combat, investigative sleuthing, RPG elements, and mini-games galore.

More graphical options will be available for PC gamers and both Japanese and English voiceovers are available for you to listen to as well. The series faltered when sales of the games did not cover the huge cost of developing them (estimates go as high as US$70 million).
