God of War review roundup: 3 things we learned

I like the idea of crafted armour that can be upgraded, but there were times where I'd have 20-30 different resources with nothing to use them on.

If past God of War games were exclusively about the Kratos and his fury, God of War on PS4 starts out with the exact opposite in mind. This isn't the Kratos you remember - and that's what makes it work so well.

God of War is mostly a new beast from the ground up.

Took me awhile to think of a title suitable for this review.

God of War director Corey Barlog has confirmed that the game will not be open world. What may surprise you is how mature its storytelling has become. Thank you for every moment of truth you brought to this experience.

Sony Interactive Entertainment has announced the availability of the new 5.53 firmware update for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 4 Pro, now available for download with a file size of 443 MB. I'd venture to say that Atreus is one of the most useful companions in a video game ever.

There has been a particular focus on the way the game looks. This sense continues into the newest God of War, with richly detailed environments that encompass vast lakes, forests, mountains and more than a few otherworldly landscapes. There are no words to properly describe the impact you have had on this game. With multiple difficulty settings, the game is as challenging as you want it to be. Anyway, Stephen's been playing this pretty heavily and telling me just how good it is.

The new storyline also pleased critics, as the introduction of Atreus adds another dimension to the already conflicted character of Kratos. As you slaughter enemies and complete quests, you will accrue experience points and hacksilver (the game's currency), which you can spend on upgrading combat skills and items, respectively. You gave so much of yourself to this role and I am truly honored to have taken this journey with you. Atreus is happy to go off and explore, while Kratos is concerned only with your quest and making sure Atreus doesn't develop his father's temper and go all dad-stabby.

Reliance Jio to launch laptop with built-in cellular connection for 4G connectivity
Qualcomm has already started working on " Always Connected PC " with big shots like Asus , Lenovo and HP on global basis. Telecom operators are leaving no stone unturned to take on the stiff competition from new entrant Reliance Jio .

Harvey, Irma, Maria, and Nate retired by WMO
Four scratches from a single season is a lot, but it is not really a surprise, considering how nasty the storms were. Since 1953, Atlantic tropical storms had been named from lists originated by the National Hurricane Center .

James Long, Officer Who Dragged David Dao From United Aircraft, Sues Airline
Dao had been asked to give up his seat to airline employees on a flight from Chicago to Louisville, Kentucky, and he had refused. He was put on administrative leave pending the conclusion of a disciplinary investigation, then that August he was sacked .

On a storyline level, it also includes a new character, Atreus, the son of Kratos, whom he must show the ropes of being a God - which based on following Kratos around for the previous four iterations of the series, involves battering folk and having a big beard. A fast-moving wraith dodges Kratos' swings but a fast shot arrow from Atreus stuns it long enough for you to get up close and personal.

Kratos is loath to take the boy with him on the journey, which he knows will be fraught with danger, but his hand is forced after he is visited by a Norse god.

Keza MacDonald in The Guardian summed up God of War simply: "It is rare to play a game so accomplished in everything it sets out to do". Echoes of Kratos' past, which he is reticent to discuss, haunt the warrior-turned-reluctant father, dogging his every step. Kratos doesn't feel like the unstoppable god he has been in the past. Why did Kratos look like he'd spent some time with a metal band? It's an astonishing amount of character development for someone who I had largely written off as a one-dimensional rage avatar.

"In many ways God of War is what the series has always been".

"#God Of War" has been around the gaming community for a long time, with its debut on the Playstation 2 back in 2005. My complaints are few and far between.

God of War brings with it attractive visuals, from environments to animations, bolstered by a powerful score. Where Kratos was often darting around rooms filled with monsters in his past life, swinging the Blades of Chaos around and striking everything in sight, the aging god actually has to consider each individual opponent in the new God of War. The map is relatively useless in pinpointing the locations of these extra challenges, but this actually works to the game's advantage in emphasising actual exploration over icon hunting.
