Samsung has today announced the launch of the new smartphone, the Galaxy J7 Duo. The smartphone is now available in five colour options i.e. midnight black, coral blue, maple gold, orchid gray and burgundy red.

In terms of optics, the Samsung Galaxy J7 Duo comes with a dual rear camera setup with a 13-megapixel sensor and a 5-megapixel sensor, with f/1.9 aperture, flash, and auto-focus. The Galaxy On5 comes with a 13MP rear camera and an 8MP selfie shooter. Some of the features of the front-facing camera include Face Unlock, Selfie Focus and Beauty Mode. The operating system is recorded as Android Oreo 8.0, which means the Galaxy J7 Duo will have most recent Samsung Experience 9.0 user interface. The App Pair feature available on the Galaxy J7 Duo allows its users to work on two apps at the same time. The smartphone is powered by an unspecified 1.59 GHz Exynos 7870 octa-core processor coupled with Mali-T830 MP1 GPU.

Coming to the display, the Galaxy J7 Duo features a 5.5-inch HD Super AMOLED display with a screen resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. In either case, we would likely be looking at significant battery life improvements compared to the Galaxy Note 8, which has a 3,300 mAh battery.

Well, if Samsung has chose to implement an in-display fingerprint sensor on the Note 9, it would technically have the space it requires to fit in a large battery and also be able to increase the display size ever so slightly.

On the connectivity front, the Samsung Galaxy J7 Duo will support 4G VoLTE, and will pack a removable 3000mAh battery. The rumours may be true and Samsung will just make the device bigger to fit them but with other companies now bringing under display fingerprint sensors to market it would not surprise us if Samsung did the same with the Note 9. The dimensions are revealed as 147.7×68.7×8.4 (mm).
