S Support Efforts to Rescue Abducted School Girls

The abduction of the 110 schoolgirls in Dapchi, Yobe State last month, highlights the significant security flaws that persist in northeastern Nigeria.

Receiving the American Secretary of State, Rex Tillerson, in audience at the State House, Abuja, President Buhari said Nigeria was working in concert with worldwide organisations and negotiators, to ensure that the girls were released unharmed by their captors.

While the Chairman said some parents of freed Chibok Schoolgirls would be in the delegation to strengthen the faith and raise the hope of the GGSTC Dapchi missing Schoolgirls' parents that their daughters would one day return home safely.

"Nigeria prefers to have schoolgirls abducted by Boko Haram from Chibok and Dapchi back alive, and that is why it has chosen negotiation, rather than a military option", Buhari's office said in an emailed statement issued by the president's spokesman.
