Jaguars To Land Andrew Norwell On Five-Year, $66.5M Deal

It's a move that makes an anlready-solid offensive line for the Jaguars even stronger: led by rookie Leonard Fournette, Jacksonville had the top rushing offense in the league previous year (2,262 yards, 4.3 yards per carry), and quarterback Blake Bortles had the best season of his career by far in terms of sacks.

The 26-year-old Norwell has spent his entire National Football League career as a member of the Carolina Panthers up until this report surfaced.

Any offensive lineman entering negotiations with the Giants suddenly has some more leverage after seeing Norwell go to the Jaguars.

The Norwell signing comes as a bit of a surprise because the New York Giants were reportedly close to landing the top-rated guard.

Not only that, but the Jaguars did have the best rushing offense in the league last season. He was sacked 55 and 51 times in his first two seasons. Later, Ohio State's Billy Price, Georgia's Isaiah Wynn, UTEP's Will Hernandez and Iowa's James Daniels could be options.
