Around 19 million Raspberry Pi units have been sold over the past six years, with the Raspberry Pi 3 accounting for around half of those. The Raspberry Pi Foundation will be submitting the application to ICASA and approval is expected around May/June.

The Raspberry Pi Foundation has unveiled the Raspberry Pi 3 Model B+.

"The new product is built around BCM2837B0, an updated version of the 64-bit Broadcom application processor used in Raspberry Pi 3B, which incorporates power integrity optimisations, and a heat spreader", the foundation says in a blog post announcing the new product. In testing-listed at the bottom of the review-the boost to processing power was evident across the board-from better performance in benchmarks to the faster data transfer when copying from USB. Lab tests show nearly a 25 percent performance improvement for 2.4 GHz bandwidth over the Model B. Bluetooth has also been updated to version 4.2 in place of 4.0.

Couple that chip with an improved antenna, and the Pi Foundation claims the B+ delivers somewhat better performance when it comes to 2.4GHz Wi-Fi, but "far better performance" when we're talking about 5GHz.

In 2017, we found that a small number of publishers were responsible for the majority of these violations. Last year, the web giant and Facebook collectively took roughly two-thirds of USA digital ad revenues.

Below 70°C, we use the improvements to increase the core frequency to 1.4GHz.

If you prefer wired to wireless, there's more good news. The bandwidth available is still limited by the use of USB 2.0, but there's a huge performance gain nonetheless. The chip, which runs at 1.4GHz, throttles down to 1.2GHz if the temperatures exceed 70 degrees Celsius. Add to that support for Power over Ethernet with the addition of a HAT, and for connectivity alone this board is worth the upgrade.

So, overall, the Raspberry Pi 3 Model B+ is quite similar to its former models and enthusiasts can buy it at the same price of $35 from here. There are no plans to discount older models or cease production until there's a clear sign demand is drying up.
