Dark mode has a few advantages.

Google announced that a dark mode for YouTube is finally coming to Android and iOS.

Unfortunately for fans of YouTube's mobile app, the feature was initially only available to desktop users. Regardless, we'll be letting you know the moment we catch wind of it going live.

YouTube first introduced a dark theme on its platform last summer with an update to the web-app and is introducing it to mobile for the first time with this update after a brief testing period.

Fantastic Beasts: Crimes of Grindlewald - new details

Notre Dame expresses disappointment in NCAA Tournament snub

Burning Stock on the move: Dick's Sporting Goods Inc. (NYSE:DKS)
It improved, as 60 investors sold APA shares while 202 reduced holdings. 25 funds opened positions while 74 raised stakes. State Of New Jersey Common Pension Fund D holds 0.02% of its portfolio in Dick's Sporting Goods, Inc . (NYSE: DKS ).

The company is today rolling out a new dark theme for YouTube on the iPhone, and it'll be bringing the new dark theme to Android devices sometime soon.

To activate the mode, you simply tap your account profile picture in the YouTube app, navigate to Settings, and flick on "Dark mode".

Apart from making it easier on the eyes in a dimly-lit setting, a dark mode can help you to better focus on content and potentially save a bit of battery life. Offering a dark theme on YouTube also makes sense from an aesthetic perspective because it gives the app a more cinematic feel.

With the update, YouTube joins a growing list of apps that feature a dark mode.
