Multiple reports revealed that Iger was asked during the company's shareholder meeting on Thursday about the controversial tirade of Behar against the United States vice president during the daytime talk show where told her co-hosts that Pence's faith is a "mental illness" during the show's February 13 broadcast.

After Vice President Mike Pence revealed "The View" co-host called him to apologize for making jokes about his faith in an interview on Monday night, he pressured her to do the same on her show.

The controversy stemmed from a comment Behar made on "The View" last month during a discussion of former White House aide Omarosa Manigault-Newman, who criticized Pence as "scary" and "extreme".

"It's one thing to talk to Jesus, It's another thing when Jesus talks to you", Behar quipped at the time. "That's called 'mental illness, ' if I'm not correct". Bozell's watchdog group is presently running a campaign on behalf of aggrieved Christians, urging that viewers contact "View" advertisers about Behar's "hateful, anti-Christian remarks".

On C-SPAN the next day, Pence attacked ABC, saying that the network should not have broadcast a "forum that compared Christianity to mental illness".

While Behar called to apologize to Pence, he decided it wasn't enough.

"It's just simply wrong for ABC to have a television program that expresses that kind of religious intolerance".
