Hali is the latest Chiefs veteran to be moved this offseason, joining inside linebacker Derrick Johnson and quarterback Alex Smith.

NFL Insider Adam Schefter reported on Monday that the Chiefs are cutting Hali, who went to five Pro Bowls over 12 seasons with the team. Hali had signed a 3-year, $21 million extension as recently as 2016, and a cap hit of almost $9.4 million this coming season simply wasn't anything the Chiefs could afford to stomach.

Parker was a free-agent signee by the Chiefs in the 2013 and spent five seasons with the club. This also doesn't include the trade of Marcus Peters to the L.A. Rams.

Over his 12-year career with the Chiefs, Hali recorded 588 total tackles, 89.5 sacks, 33 forced fumbles, two interceptions and two touchdowns.

Bills trade Cordy Glenn to Bengals, move up in the first round
The Bills had been looking to unload Glenn and the Bengals were in desperate need of an upgrade at the offensive tackle position. Glenn, 28, has played six seasons with the Bills since being selected out of Georgia in the second round of the 2012 NFL Draft .

Hali was the 20th overall pick in the 2006 draft out of Penn State, started every game as a rookie and never really looked back.

Hali's release was expected given lack of on-field production in 2017 and the cost of keeping him on the roster. It was also a decision made easier knowing Hali had made only 2 starts over the last two seasons combined. "His incredible work ethic and passion for the game helped make him one of the most successful pass rushers in franchise history".

The 30-year-old Parker should have plenty of suitors in free agency.

"It was great playing in front of the fans in Arrowhead and with some of the best teammates", he said on Twitter. "Guys change teams and move".
