Samsung Galaxy S9, and S9+ on sale in Israel

Tech giant Samsung Electronics plans to ship 43 million units of its flagship smartphone models Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus this year, higher than the 41 million units of Galaxy S8 lineup it sold last year, according to news reports on March 12.

The S9 with a 4GB RAM memory and 64GB storage is retailing for NIS 3,200-3,000 in Israel. Nonetheless, the company has now implemented the latest Android 8.0 Oreo OS, along with the TouchWiz UI for the smartphones but the other leader smartphone from past year was left out of the Oreo update. As far as that's concerned, Samsung has not made any announcement regarding the official Android Oreo update for the Galaxy Note 8 other than it will turn up soon.

The research note was obtained by MacRumors who notes in its own report that Samsung could be facing too many technological issues while working on incorporating the feature. Even though Samsung is doing an impressive job by releasing timely security updates, the Samsung Galaxy S9 still runs on Android 8.0 while Android 8.1 is the latest firmware. It may be specific only to Turkey and possibly some other European markets, but it can be used as good indication on when the rest of the world will be getting the update. Most major smartphone makers, including Samsung, Apple and Huawei saw their sales decline in the three months due to a longer handset-replacement cycle of consumers.
