Now, it is known that the latest version of Android has already been released from quite some time by Google and this version has been named as Android 8.0 Oreo. As promised, the rollout of the software update began last week for all eligible handsets. The country's largest mobile carrier has started rolling out Android 8.0 Oreo for the LG V30 on its network. As such, they would be the first V30 users in the region to be able to download the latest Android version and discover the new features in it including the improved notifications, picture-in-picture multitasking, and more. Sony doesn't heavily customize the user interface on their smartphones but you might get some icons and some settings which will be different from the stock Android OS.

A fully redesigned emoji set, one that now adds 60 new emoji, also comes with the Android Oreo update for the LG V30, which has been rolled out for Verizon users last Friday, March 9.

The company has announced the Android Oreo update for Xperia R1 and Xperia R1 Plus on its official Twitter handle. Apart from the core features, FoneArena reports the update also introduces some new features such as reminders for unfinished tasks such as saved email drafts and messages, contextual menus for app shortcuts, as well as new Xperia actions.

Unfortunately, some Xperia R1 and Xperia R1 Plus owners have reported that the Oreo update isn't completely bug-free. Both the Xperia R1 and Xperia R1 Plus share nearly identical specs and differ only in terms of storage and RAM. The dual SIM handsets now run Android Oreo, and sport 5.2-inch HD (720×1280 pixels) TFT displays. Under the hood, both of them are powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor. The Xperia R1 offers 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage, while the R1 Plus offers 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. Both the smartphones are backed by a 2620mAh battery.
