French President Emmanuel Macron on Monday invited 140 world's main business leaders to a summit on French competitiveness in a bid to shed more light on the country's assets and draw more flows into domestic market.

The French president, who shared a unusual, much-reported upon handshake with Trump in July previous year, made the comments in a Sunday interview with the BBC's Andrew Marr Show.

"You always take a risk when you ask in a referendum yes or no on a very complicated subject". Probably, in a similar context but our context was very different, so I don't want to take any bets. But he would probably do it rather differently, saying - "It's a mistake when you just ask "yes" or "no", when you don't ask people how to improve the situation and to explain how to improve it".

"I think a lot of our issues in both the Middle East and in Africa is due to a lot of frustrations due to a lot of past humiliations", he said, but stressed that Trump's tweet should not be the focus of discussions.

Even as the favourite leading by 20% points in the French presidential election past year, Macron said - "I'm a pro-European".

He added that full access to the European Union for the UK's financial services sector was "not feasible" outside the single market. The censure resolution condemns Trump for remarks it says are "hateful, discriminatory and racist, and can not and should not be the basis of any American policy".
