"Rogue One" and "Solo" Producer Allison Shearmur Passes Away at 54

She had been a driving force behind some of the biggest blockbuster franchises in recent years including the latest series in the Star Wars saga. She has died at the age of 54.

Veteran Hollywood producer and executive Allison Shearmur, who produced the "Hunger Games" films, "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" and the upcoming "Solo: A Star Wars Story", died Friday, a source told Variety.

Shearmur was also involved in the production of films in both the American Pie and Jason Bourne franchises, while she also served as a co-producer on the forthcoming film Chaos Walking, which will star Spiderman actor Tom Holland and Star Wars lead Daisy Ridley.

In 2017, prior to a Women in Entertainment event hosted by The Hollywood Reporter, Shearmur spoke about the future she hopes to see for her daughter. She went on to say, "It is one world, and we all work in it".

In the same interview, she was asked how she would spend one extra day, to which she responded, "I would sit by the ocean in Kauai, with my husband, watching my kids surf and be fearless". She is survived by her husband, film composer Edward Shearmur; daughter Imogen and son Anthony; parents Martin and Rhoda Becker; brothers and sisters Jodi (and husband Fred Proust), John (and Heather Brecker) and Lisa (and Alan Hartstein); and seven nephews and nieces.
