Plane skids off runaway in northern Turkey, no injuries

All the people on board survived the incident.

The Pegasus Airline's Boeing 737-800 was flying from the Turkish capital Ankara to Trabzon Airport when it ended up careering off the runway on Sunday.

The plane then tore through grass verges before digging into mud and coming to a terrifying stop - on a cliff edge.

A Pegasus airplane has skidded off the runway on Sunday after landing in the Turkish province of Trabzon, causing panic among the passengers.

Shocking footage from inside the plane just moments after the crash shows passengers evacuating as women and children are heard crying out in fear. "There was panic; people shouting, screaming", Fatma Gordu, who was on board of the flight, told state-run news agency Anadolu, quoted in AFP. "There has been no loss of life or injury to anyone on-board", the company added. Yavuz said the cause of the incident was not yet known and the airport was closed until 08:00 a.m. local (05:00 GMT).
