Vikas, the son of BJP's Haryana unit president, and his friend Ashish were arrested for allegedly stalking and attempting to abduct Kundu, the daughter of a senior Haryana bureaucrat, in early August a year ago.

Vikas has been accused of stalking and attempting to kidnap Varnika, daughter of a senior Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer. They allegedly backed her into a corner and exited their vehicle and approached her auto, but she was able to drive away. Vikas has been in jail since August 9.

"I will not call it an embarrassment".

Vikas's bail pleas had been rejected four times by a lower court before he moved HC in November, where five lawyers appeared on his behalf, arguing that the matter had been "exaggerated" by Varnika's family, including her father VS Kundu.
