In the skit, Scarborough, played by Alex Moffat, and Brzezinski, played by Kate McKinnon, discussed President Donald Trump's reported "shithole" remarks and Michael Wolff's "Fire and Fury".

For more than a year, onetime White House strategist Steve Bannon was depicted on "Saturday Night Live" as the Grim Reaper, manipulating President Donald Trump from behind a mask and a hood.

Asked if there was any damning material on Trump that didn't make the book, Wolff mentions that he left out the part about "baby races". "Trump would ask to have two babies placed in his office, usually of different ethnicities. Someone would put a bowl of Goldfish Crackers on the other side of the room and Trump would say, 'A thousand bucks on the black one'".

Armisen's Wolff also said of the book, "Look, you read it right?" You had fun? What's the problem. "Even the stuff that's not true was true". Bannon, who was ejected from Breitbart News, updated everyone on what he's been up to. He's already working on a web series for Crackle, a line of wrinkled barn jackets called Frumpers for Guys and a skin-care line called Blotch.

Bannon/Murray referred to himself as the "Bannon Cannon" and promised that the "Bannon Dynasty is dawning".

The episode hosted by actor Sam Rockwell - who just won the Golden Globe for his performance in Three Billboards Outside Ebbing Missoouri - got off to star studded start with Bill Murray popping up as Steve Bannon in a spoof of Morning Joe.

Next up on Morning Joe's guest list was Oprah Winfrey - played by Leslie Jones - and she was immediately asked whether she'll run for president.

Bannon then says that having helped Trump get elected, he's now looking forward to the next election, where he plans to champion a new candidate, name-dropping YouTube vlogger Logan Paul, notorious "pharma bro" Martin Shkreli and disgraced Subway spokesperson Jared Fogle.
