Auto crashes into second floor of building in Santa Ana

Orange County Fire Agency shared this photo of a vehicle which had crashed through the second floor of a building in Santa Ana.

The white vehicle could be seen partially sticking out of the second floor of the building located on the 300 block of East 17th Street.

A auto remains lodged inside the second floor of a Santa Ana dentist office after the driver crashed into the building on January 14, 2018.

The car's driver was taken to the hospital for observation.

Orange County Fire Agency (OCFA) shared photos of the scene, where one person was temporarily trapped in the white saloon vehicle as a fire burned in the building.

The Orange County Fire Authority said the driver hit a center divider on 17th Street, then went airborne. The incident caused a small fire that injured one person, who managed to get out of the sedan unassisted, the OCFA said. Both sustained minor injuries. One person self extricated, the other person is still trapped in the vehicle.

Crews needed to use a crane to remove the vehicle from the building, photos show.
