It has yet to be determined if Japanese police will move forward with pressing charges against the disgraced YouTuber.

The company initially responded with their standard, cookie-cutter response to questionable videos saying the company "prohibits violent or gory content".

Paul said he had made a "huge mistake" and was ashamed of himself, and he deleted the video after it caused a social media backlash.

Noting that some of the streaming site's "very young" content creators "get themselves in hot water", Chief Business Officer Robert Kyncl emphasized that Paul-whose channel was pulled shortly after the scandal erupted-was basically a rare bad apple among a huge stable of creatives who are not terrible.

YouTube also condemned Paul's actions and stated that suicide should never be used as a joke or a means for viewership. In a tense executive session, Daniels and Kyncl explained their decision to halt Paul's projects as well as what steps they're taking to prevent similar situations like this from occurring with their young (and notoriously boundary-pushing) artists.

African countries demand retraction, apology for Trump's comments
Even war-torn South Sudan weighed in, with President Salva Kiir's spokesman Ateny Wek Ateny slamming the comments as "outrageous". Nevertheless, the uproar has revived attention on previous remarks by Trump that have ignited accusations of racism.

YouTube was criticised for moving slowly in response, taking almost two weeks to take action. PewDiePie, the biggest star on YouTube, brought in some flack to the platform a year ago as a result of anti-semitic elements in his videos. Even in the case of Logan Paul, the video was taken down by him voluntarily.

Google Preferred features YouTube's most popular content in packages for sale to advertisers. You deserve to know what's going on", "Like many others, we were upset by the video that was shared last week. "They can not masquerade as technology companies, particularly when they place advertisements", said Sir Martin Sorrell, Chairman of WPP, to The Guardian.

Besides being removed from two YouTube Red projects, Paul was also pulled from the Google Preferred advertising platform, though Forbes.com reports that he can still expect to make millions this year.

With millions of videos being uploaded to their platform, which are they then use to generate profit, content platforms such as YouTube, Facebook and Twitter should be held responsible for the same content they monetise.
