Tonya Harding admits that she knew of plan to attack Nancy Kerrigan

Later, authorities discovered that Harding's ex-husband and bodyguard masterminded the attack in hopes of improving Harding's chances at the US Trials and the Olympics.

Kerrigan's husband and agent did not have much to say either.

Of Gillooly and Eckardt's involvement, Harding said "it popped in my head two or three days after we got back [that Gillooly and Eckardt were behind the attack]" in the special.

Kerrigan was clubbed in the legs with a baton by a masked suspect. Harding also denied planning to injure Kerrigan and asked to remain on the U.S. Olympic team.

Authorities quickly unraveled the plot and arrested Gillooly, Eckhardt and Stant, who all served time for their roles. Harding pleaded guilty in Portland Wednesday to a conspiracy charge in the attack on Nancy Kerrigan. "You see that hard exterior that she's always had in life and in her interviews till this day, you get to understand more the armor that she has and that anger underneath because of the life she had".

Harding, who recently gave a two-hour interview with US ABC's Truth and Lies: The Tonya Harding Story, is facing blowback from everyone including her mother LaVona "Sandy" Golden, her manager Michael Rosenberg, and sports journalists who claim the gold medallist is "up to her old tricks".

Though she eventually realized the movie was based on a true story, Robbie didn't let the real Harding influence her portrayal.

However, Harding said that she won't be apologizing any more for the incident.
