The Handmaid's Tale has been one of the biggest television hits of the last season, having won eight Emmy Awards and recently taking home Best Drama at last week's Golden Globes. Understandably, following up such an acclaimed run can feel a bit daunting. According to Hulu, season two will be "shaped by Offred's pregnancy and her ongoing fight to free her future child from the dystopian horrors of Gilead".

The Handmaid's Tale season two premieres on Hulu this April. Given that Season 1 adapted the Margaret Atwood novel the show is based on in full, Season 2 is exploring new territory. "I'm not being cagey!" But one of the scenes that Miller is most excited to share is that of a handmaid's funeral in Gilead, which offers some of the most striking imagery from the series. "Everything from the design of their costumes to the way they look is so chilling", says Miller, who adds that production benefited from real snow on set in Canada.

HMT showrunner Bruce Miller gushed about working with Moss, saying, "Lizzie is such an incredible partner on this with me". Sometimes while writing the scripts, I just really wanted to surprise her.

The Handmaid's Tale

Though the first season of "The Handmaid's Tale" ended with a terrifying cliffhanger leaving us wondering about the fate of Elisabeth Moss' pregnant Offred as she was carted away in a Gilead-controlled van - we're pretty sure she's gonna be alright in Season 2.
