Google announced that more headphones with Assistant, from companies such as Jaybird LLC, JBL, LG and Sony, will launch this year. Both displays will also support HD video and contain a 10-watt speaker - ideal for YouTube videos which you can search and play just by asking Google Assistant out loud.

As per the Google Keyword Blog, major sound tycoons such as JBL, LG, Lenovo and Sony will be unveiling the assistant powered smart displays, i.e touch-screen speakers.

The new devices will generally work like the other smart speakers flooding the market at the moment - such as Google Home.

Both models have an odd wedge on the back, and this allows you to position the Lenovo Smart Display either vertically or horizontally.

Google showcased a small video revealing the capabilities of these smart displays. We've seen evidence of this motive before with the Google Home lineup of devices, and now at CES 2018, we're seeing even more lengths the company is going to try and claim a spot on your counter, shelf, coffee table, etc.

Lenovo is the first company to introduce its Google Assistant-equipped smart speaker at CES.

There you have it for this quick look at the Lenovo Smart Display! This way you can explore and discover new things to do with the Google Assistant.

Google Goes After the Amazon Echo Show with Assistant on Smart Displays.

It remains to be seen whether Amazon will list the new Assistant-powered smart displays on its store.

Last week Google announced that the Google Assistant was available on 400 million devices. JBL's device has an 8-inch display. On top of that, you can include all the usual compatibility with home automation systems already present on the regular Google Home devices. Making and receiving calls can be done completely via voice, while the camera itself has a physical shutter to ensure greater privacy for users.

What's more, the device features a single 10-watt speaker to the left of the display for what I suspect are design reasons. LG's new TVs will have Google Assistant inside, and GE has built a way to ask either Alexa or Google Assistant to preheat an oven or turn on the dishwasher.

Lenovo says its version, available in 8-inch or 10-inch high-definition touchscreen models, will be available in early summer.
