Gal Gadot accepts Critics' Choice Awards honor with inspiring speech

Actress Gal Gadot impressed everyone with her acceptance speech at the 2018 Critics' Choice Awards.

The stars of the films in the DC Extended Universe aren't known for commending critics, yet Wonder Woman star Gal Gadot is full of surprises.

The actress noted that through her career she wanted to play women characters who were strong, independent and real, and Wonder Woman provided her with the best chance.

Also in the same category were "Thor: Ragnarok", "Logan", "Baby Driver" and "War for the Planet of the Apes".

The sparkling ensemble boasted a racy plunging neckline and lightly cinched to showcase Gal's tiny waist as she excitedly took to the stage to start acting out the hit tune.

Gadot also served as Jenkins' fierce dancing bodyguard. She commands the attention of the world, and in doing so, she sets a positive example for humanity.

'She didn't do it for the glory.

"We wanted her to be universal, to be an inspiration to all people all around the world, and our plan was to make sure we didn't give too much attention to the fact that she's a woman". This year, three of the top grossing films were female led.

And they say female-led films don't make bank.

Gadot was clear, though, that Hollywood still has a long way to go to reach true equity.

Director Patty looked just as elegant in a form-fitting floral dress, with skyscrapper silver heels as she effortless won the second round with her Karate Kid performance.

She added, "I want to share this award with all the women and men who stand for what's right, standing for those who can't stand or speak for themselves".

Gal continued: 'As artists and filmmakers, I believe it's not only our job to entertain, but to inspire and educate for love and respect. My promise and commitment to all of you is that I will never be silenced, and we will continue: band together to make strides, uniting for equality.

The actress shared the official envelope declaring the film the victor, including the caption, "Thank you to the Critics for recognizing Wonder Woman as best action movie!". Gadot will team up with Jenkins again for Wonder Woman 2, set for release on November 1, 2019.
