West Ham open to Hernandez offers

I understand West Ham's hierarchy have told Hernandez that he can leave, if the right offer comes in for him.

The Hammers believed they had pulled off a major coup when they landed Mexico's all-time leading goalscorer from Bayer Leverkusen last summer for a fee of £16million.

In 17 league appearances this season, the Mexican has managed just four goals and has struggled to get back to grips with Premier League football.

Hernandez's form in his second spell in England has been somewhat surprising given the 29-year-old's stunning arrival on the European scene at Manchester United.

Sky Sports say West Ham will listen to bids for Hernandez as Moyes is concerned the squad he inherited from Slaven Bilic is unbalanced, with too many attackers and a lack of defensive options. Sources close to Hernandez have confirmed that whilst the player is happy at West Ham - he does not like the idea of spending too much time on the bench, so would accept a move away from the club and accepts that means a likely move overseas.

The report added that West Ham would also be willing to sell forwards Javier Hernandez, Diafro Sahko and Andy Carroll with Chelsea reportedly interested in Carroll. That amounts to a nightmare scenario for Hernandez, who is expected to lead Mexico's attack next summer at the World Cup, and his national team's legions of fans.
