Flight of the Conchords Special Debuts This May on HBO

Flight of the Conchords is returning - very briefly.

An hourlong Flight of the Conchords comedy special is set to air on HBO this May.

After hinting at a return last week, Flight of the Conchords have officially confirmed that they will be releasing an hour-long comeback special on HBO this May.

The special event was officially announced today by Casey Bloys, president of HBO Programming. The show racked up 10 Emmy nominations over the course of its two seasons. The special, slated to air this May, will feature Bret McKenzie and Jemaine Clement performing classic Conchords songs ("Business Time"!) along with new originals in front of a live audience during their United Kingdom tour. Two years later, they debuted their original series Flight of the Conchords, in which they played fictional versions of themselves. Clement's credits include the Rio movies while McKenzie was the music supervisor for The Muppets.

The duo, Jemaine Clement and Bret McKenzie, made the announcement on Facebook this morning. Good one Bret. The comedy special will be directed by Hamish Hamilton.
