Snow and rain possible Friday as temps drop

We saw isolated snow showers push through early today which sent snow flurries flying and even dusting some neighborhoods along the way, but better accumulating snow chances will move our way this weekend.

Tonight: Winds will begin to decrease tonight, and so will the temperatures!

The wind is expected to ease during the course of the day.

What we do know is that temperatures are about to get colder. Lows will fall into the teens with a forecast low near 17° in Lafayette.

Far northern IN is under a Winter Storm WATCH with lake effect bands pushing totals IN some areas up to 1 foot, though that will not affect us here unless you're planning on travelling towards Lake Michigan this weekend.

We will continue to see our next wave of moisture work in overnight, and it looks like most areas outside of the mountains will be faced with a chilly morning rain for the commute in on Friday. Highs on Sunday aren't expected to reach 40°. There will be several quiet hours on Friday before a Clipper system arrives late Friday into Saturday morning. Again some will be wintry with accumulations of snow possible over high ground.

Tuesday will be cloudy with a chance of rain and snow showers as another storm system will approach the area.

Additional light snow makers are coming in here as we roll through next week. "The rest of the viewing area will potentially see 1" to 2" of snow by Saturday afternoon.
