The redshirt sophomore linebacker was named a second-team All-American by the Walter Camp Foundation Thursday evening, becoming the eighth Blue Devil during head coach David Cutcliffe's 10 years in Durham to earn that recognition.

The Badgers' four All-Americans match Oklahoma for the most by a single school on this year's Walter Camp teams, with the Sooners placing four players on the first team. Auburn and Clemson have three representatives apiece.

This is the 128th edition of the Walter Camp All-America team - the nation's oldest All-America team.

Smith and Davis were both second-team selections this year.

Davis had 36 total tackles, one interception, a forced fumble and 11 pass breakups, which led the team. He finished with 100 or more yards in four games and had seven multiple touchdown games. Edwards was a consensus first-team All-Big Ten pick this season.

Pollard is the two-time defending American Athletic Conference special teams player of the year.

The 2017 Walter Camp All-America team will be honored at the organization's 51st annual national awards banquet, presented by David McDermott Lexus of New Haven, on Saturday, January 13, 2018, at the Yale University Commons in New Haven, Conn.

Carlson, a finalist for the Lou Groza Award, was Auburn's lone first-team selection. The senior averaged 20.6 yards per catch on 69 receptions, good for 1,423 yards (the most in the nation) and 12 touchdowns.
