Last week, I wrote about NiceHash in relation to its simplicity to get into mining Bitcoin. There's no way of getting it back if that's the case, and if that is indeed the case, there's no way NiceHash can restore money to miners' wallets.

The first reports on Twitter, Reddit, and BitcoinTalk have miners anxious as it seems NiceHash has been hacked or is at least going through some odd maintenance period. It was not clear whether the company or its customers would end up losing the stolen bitcoin if they are not recovered.

When NiceHash admitted that they were hacked, they did not confirm the amount that had been stolen.

"We are working to verify the precise number of BTC taken", the company said.

NiceHash marketing executive Andrej P. Škraba told Reuters that his firm was the victim of "a highly professional" heist that yielded about 4,700 bitcoin, worth around $64 million at current prices. CoinDesk revealed that the NiceHash wallet contained 4,736 BTC - about $60 million.

'Marvel Rising: Secret Warriors' Animated Movie to Feature Diverse Superheroes

(UNP) Shares Bought by Bayesian Capital Management LP
Baird restated a "hold" rating and issued a $116.00 target price on shares of Union Pacific in a report on Sunday, September 17th. Voya Investment Management LLC owned approximately 0.51% of Union Pacific worth $442,221,000 as of its most recent SEC filing.

The full extent of the hack is still unclear and the company has not provided any updates since they announced the hack.

Importantly, our payment system was compromised and the contents of the NiceHash Bitcoin wallet have been stolen. In addition to undertaking our own investigation, the incident has been reported to the relevant authorities and law enforcement and we are co-operating with them as a matter of urgency.

Clearly, this is a matter of deep concern and we are working hard to rectify the matter in the coming days. NiceHash, which advised users to change online passwords after it halted operations on Wednesday, has provided few other details about the attack on its payment system.

While not confirmed in any way to be related to the Bitcoin theft, information has surfaced on Reddit through user /u/YadaBadaDoo that NiceHash's founder and CTO, Matjaz Skorjanc, is himself a convicted criminal, having been convicted in 2013 of having created the Mariposa botnet, assisting others in "wrongdoings" and money laundering.
