Josef Fares, creator of A Way Out and Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons, went off-script during his The Game Awards appearance, briefly addressing his relationship with EA and the controversy surrounding the company's recent microtransaction decisions. And that's not all!

Additionally, Hazelight announced today players who purchased the game can give a trial to another player allowing them to play alongside for free. Talk about game sharing at it's best.

When you buy the full version of A Way Out, you'll get the special chance to invite friends into the full experience to play with you for free. It seems it's all pretty straightforward here. Also, your friend must be on the same platform, and you'll need PS Plus or Xbox Live Gold if you're playing on console.

Oh, and don't be discouraged that EA's name is attached to the title, as Fares himself was more than eager to share that although publishers f@!& up sometimes, he has nothing to do with the microtransaction bullsh*t that's going on right now. Here is a trailer that was shown off at the Game Awards.

A Way Out features both split-screen and online co-op with each player assuming the role of either Leo or Vincent as they break out of a prison and escape the authorities. Hopefully, it'll be enough of a success to encourage Electronic Arts to try more different games. Are you excited to play A Way Out?
