Dr. Dre and Lachlan Murdoch, 21st Century Fox executive chairman, live in Bel Air's gated community, Brentwood Country Estates, while former California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger also owns a home in the neighborhood.

The Associated Press reported that the evacuation orders affected around 200,000 people and that almost 200 homes had already been destroyed.

Murdoch's Moraga Bel Air winery issued a statement on Twitter Wednesday saying, "We are watching the situation unfold very carefully along with everyone else". Local NBC news coverage had previously reported that Murdoch's house was on fire, but that status has since been downgraded to "still standing" for the time being.

No casualties have yet been reported but thousands of homes are threatened by the fires, including in the luxury Bel Air area. It has forced multiple evacuations and the 405 Freeway near the Getty Center was shut down.

On Moraga Drive on Wednesday, gray smoke surrounded Murdoch's property, but the compound burned.
