Porn star August Ames found dead days after backslash for homophobic remarks

Adult actress and ex-girlfriend of Hollywood actor Charlie Sheen, Brett Rossi, on Wednesday defended fellow porn actress August Ames after she died Tuesday in Camarillo, California, after reportedly hanging herself.

The 23-year-old Canadian entertainer, whose real name is Mercedes Grabowski, was found dead on Tuesday under mysterious circumstances.

According to AVN.com, the Ventura County Medical Examiner's office confirmed Ames' death.

"She was the kindest person I ever knew and she meant the world to me", said Kevin Moore, Ames' husband.

'Please leave this as a private family matter in this hard time, ' he added.

After posting her statements on Twitter, Ames was hit with a barrage of comments accusing her of being homophobic.

Ames, who had appeared in more than 270 films, said that medical testing was different for gay porn to straight porn, which is why she didn't want to take part.

She became the 9th most popular porn star online after her videos on Pornhub were getting most-views each day.

She later tweeted that she "loved the gay community" and that "none of her intentions were malicious" following a social media backlash. What the f-k ever!

The cause of death has not been disclosed, according to XBIZ.

Ames's death has since raised disconcert with the nature of the adult entertainment industry, of its demands and expectations of performers, with some remarking that the entertainer's death was a tragic and ironic one, having risen to great heights in the industry, but ultimately overwhelmed and negated by the nature of her work and status as a star adult entertainer. #LAdirect I do my homework for my body'.

On Dec. 4, 2017, Ames tweeted that she had refused to work with a male adult film performer in a shoot for the porn studio EroticaX because he had previously acted in gay porn.

Porn film director Jules Jordan tweeted, saying Ames was one of the "nicest people" he ever knew.
