Virginia inspection stickers will be relocated from the center of vehicle windshields to the lower left corner in front of the driver, the Virginia State Police announced.

VSP officials said the location change for the stickers comes from auto manufacturers now offering crash avoidance technology in numerous vehicles, and said the placement of the stickers in the bottom middle of the windshield could cause interference in systems operating properly.

The Virginia State Police want automobile owners to know the placement of state inspection stickers is about to change. That technology often uses the center of a car's windshield and could fail to work if a sticker is placed there. "Beginning January 1st, all 2019 stickers need to be placed in that lower left-hand corner".
